As with many brick-and-mortar stores, openings and closings are part of the cycle. Some locations thrive, while others shut down due to declining interest or other factors. CVS is no exception—and today, we're taking a look at two of its locations.

The Closings Over The Years

While closings are never fun to see, CVS has been planning these for years as multiple closings keep happening. Cheapism went on to say,

In 2021, CVS announced that it was going to close stores in order to “optimize” its existing locations and pharmacies. Since then, the company has closed about 900 stores, according to USA Today. National pharmacy chains have been struggling since the pandemic with labor costs, competing online pharmacies, and smaller reimbursements for prescriptions.

Illinois CVS Locations Closing

As of now for this year we have two locations closed.

It should be noted that this list comes from Cheapism, as there has been no official release of planned closings.

CVS did not release an official list of locations that are closing or any specific dates, but dozens of locations have already closed or have announced their closure already this year. If your pharmacy is on the list of closures, it’s best to call the location to make sure it’s still in business, and find out when it will close.
