What Is The Most Overhyped City In Iowa? [Poll]

Iowa is known for a lot of things, and many people love to hype up the parts of Iowa that they are from. I grew up in a smaller town in Iowa, so I prefer small towns while others from bigger cities in Iowa most likely prefer the well, the cities.

Even with those differences, I believe that as Iowans we can figure out some of the most overrated spots in Iowa. Let's focus on cities, but if there is a town or travel spot out there that deserves this not-so-bright spotlight, let's figure those out too.

Everywhere in Iowa is fair game. If there is a spot that gets a lot of love, and hype that you think doesn't deserve it let us know!

Personally, I grew up in Solon and then moved to Cedar Rapids Iowa in high school. After that, I moved to Davenport. This is a safe space for your votes so I'll share the spot that I think is a bit overhyped... It is not a popular vote, but besides the amazing tailgates, and great sports, I think Iowa City is a bit overhyped. If you disagree that is totally fine. Share your thoughts below.

Since the popular Youtube channel run by Nick Johnson has made a video about almost every state when it comes to redneck towns we decided to take the number spot from each of those videos and put them in a list of the most redneck towns in the Midwest. In no particular order here are your most redneck towns.

Behind the Scenes with the Iowa Hawkeyes-Iowa's Ladies Football Academy 2022

Have you ever wondered what it's like to be behind the scenes with the Iowa Hawkeyes? When you're part of the Ladies Football academy you get the full experience of what it's like to be on the field in Kinnick Stadium with Kirk Ferentz, coaches and the Iowa Hawkeye football players.

Take a look inside the locker rooms and other places regular people can't normally see.

Here's a bit of history.

The Ladies Football Academy has been a University of Iowa football tradition for over a decade. This year's event was the last; held on June 11, 2022. 665 women participated in the day-long event raising funds for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Over $500,000 was raised this year alone.

Since the tradition began in 2010 (the academy was canceled two years during the pandemic) the program has raised nearly $3 million.

The ladies must raise at least $500 to participate in the football camp, but in exchange, they can meet the Iowa Hawkeye football players, coaches, and trainers, get autographs, tour the football facilities and run drills with the players. It's definitely a once-in-a-lifetime bucket list experience.
