How to Call-In to a Radio Station and Win Prizes
HEY!! It’s Megan from US104.9.
If you’ve ever been nervous to call in and try to win something… this is your sign. I promise it’s way less scary than you think, so let me walk you through exactly what happens.
What Happens When You Call In To Win?
First, be listening to the radio and wait for the DJ to give you the cue to call. Once you hear it, call the phone number right away. For US104.9 the number is (563-326-1049).
Now, your phone is going to ring… and ring… and ring. It might feel like FOREVER. That’s normal
On my end, I’m answering calls as fast as I can and counting them. So I’ll pick up and go:
“You’re caller #1” click
“You’re caller #2” click
“You’re caller #3” click
And I keep going until I hit caller #9.
If that’s YOU, I’m going to get excited and tell you you’re the winner! Then I’ll grab your info and record your reaction for the air.
Meanwhile, all the other lines are still ringing while I’m talking to the winner. After I hang up, I’ll play their audio on the radio. And if I see other people still on the line, I’ll hop back on and let them know a winner was already picked.
So don’t stress, you’re not doing anything wrong if you don’t win. It just means someone got in a split second faster.
