More Info

This list wasn't looking at "moderate" drinking, it was reporting binge drinking. They got their statistics from adults reporting they binge drink or drink heavily.

Two drinks for men and one for women is considered moderate drinking which Health officials say carries relatively little risk, with the CDC saying "drinking less is better for health than drinking more."

The article does go on to say,

alcohol use led to about 95,000 deaths annually in the U.S. from 2011-2015, and it shortened the lives of those who died by an average of 29 years.

If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol use, you can call the national helpline at 800-662-4357.
