As symbols of holidays go, the pumpkin has to be my favorite. The shape, the color, the utility of this fruit (yep, its a fruit, not a veggie) is perfectly suited to Hallowe'en and autumn in general.

The choosing of the perfect pumpkin to carve into a Jack-o-Lantern is no joke. Maybe you love a fresh pumpkin to make an honest to goodness pure pumpkin pie.

Whatever your love for pumpkin, here are four spots in the Quad Cities where you can hope to find great pumpkins abound... Charlie Brown.

    DeWitt Great Pumpkin Festival

    The festival is this Sunday, October 14th and includes Pumpkin Derby Car Races, Pumpkin Painting Make and Takes,  Scarecrow Decorating Contest,  Kids Games, Craft Vendors, Food Vendors,  Pumpkin Carving Demonstrations,  Kid's and Pet Costume Parade, Baking Contest and much more.
