Adverse Reaction to Antibiotics Sends Mayor Gluba to Hospital

As of yesterday, Mayor Gluba was being treated at University Hospitals in Iowa City for an 'adverse reaction' to antibiotics he was taking for treatment of a bug bite.

"As a precaution, he is currently receiving care at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. His primary care physician has requested he take a week off to fully recuperate," according to the statement city spokeswoman Jennifer Nahra sent to the Quad City Times."

 

Mayor Gluba is doing well and expected to make a full recovery. He's taking the next 7-10 days off to rest, as a precautionary measure and to give his body plenty of time to heal.
