Here at The Hawk, we broadcast from one of the most haunted buildings in the Quad Cities. Could you handle staying overnight in a former mortuary?

It creeps most people out when I tell them I work in a former funeral home where they embalmed and prepared the bodies in-house. Some are intrigued, some are grossed out and others down right refuse to even step foot in the building!

Built in 1929, just before the great Stock Market Crash that year, this building at 1229 N. Brady Street in Davenport, IA. was a prestigious, state-of-the-art funeral home, like none other built or seen in the area.

O.C. Hill was already well-known for his excellence in funeral service. He invited his nephew, George Fredericks into the firm in 1919. Together, they built a great reputation, that has been in this community every since.

On Halloween night, we are doing something that has never been done before. The Hawk and Rock Island Paranormal are conducting an in-depth investigation into this historical and creepy Quad City Landmark, right here at our Townsquare Media building. This will not be for the timid, squeamish or naysayer. This is an overnight look in to all the stories, DJs present and years past, have reported and we intend to figure out who all and what all is here.

Do something different for Halloween this year! Make history with us and keep listening to 104.9 The Hawk (download the RadioPup App on your mobile device) to find out how you join the fun.
