Hot Air Balloon Festival Coming Back To Davenport This July

I don't know about you, but there's just something magical about seeing a sky full of colorful hot air balloons. It's one of those summer sights that never gets old, and luckily, we don't have to travel far to experience it.

The Quad Cities Balloon Festival is coming back to Rhythm City Casino Resort in Davenport on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, and this is one of the coolest events we have all summer. Even better? Admission is free.

The biggest attraction is, of course, the hot air balloons. Pilots from around the Midwest will gather in Davenport for balloon launches, filling the sky with dozens of colorful balloons. Since balloons rely on calm weather, launches are always weather-permitting, but when everything lines up, it's an incredible sight.

My favorite part has to be the Balloon Glow. After the sun goes down, the balloons stay on the ground while pilots fire up the burners, making each balloon glow against the night sky. It's absolutely beautiful and definitely one of those moments you'll want to capture with your phone.

Wanna Ride In The Balloon?

If you've ever wanted to experience a hot air balloon for yourself, the festival will also offer tethered balloon rides, giving you the chance to float above the festival while remaining safely secured to the ground. Just remember that rides are limited and weather dependent.

You'll also find live music, food trucks, local vendors, shopping, bounce houses, games, and activities for the kids. It's the kind of event where you can spend the entire evening walking around, grabbing something good to eat, listening to music, and soaking in the atmosphere.

The Quad Cities Balloon Festival has been a local favorite since 2008, and it also helps support local nonprofit organizations, including the Quad City Veterans Outreach Center.
