There are many parents, like me, when faced with homeschooling their kids during the coronavirus outbreak, were more than a little concerned with how to actually "teach."

That was before Governor Pritzker declared the situation an "Act of God" and parents were no longer on the hook for their kid's schoolwork throughout the school closure.

While most parents are getting some relief from having to "teach" that doesn't mean that kids should immediately start playing video games, watching tv and looking at their phones and tablets.

Thankfully, and even though it is closed, the Burpee Museum of Natural History, 737 North Main Street, is offering free e-learning while Illinois schools are shut down.

The classes started today and based on the comments it sounds like something not only young kids but adults and parents who are shut in at this time might enjoy too.

To be part of the fun just follow Burpee Museum of Natural History on Facebook. Each day the museum will host a Facebook live video.
