Craig’s List: 4 Things to Know – 8/14
We're one week away from the Great American Eclipse.
1 - A more unsettled weather pattern takes over this week. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for the first half of the week. Details from the National Weather Service are here.
2 - Initial forecasts predict clear skies for next Monday's eclipse, which means a lot of people will be looking up. But, you should never look at the sun, eclipse or not, without special glasses. As always, there are some sketchy Eclipse Glasses sellers out there. A local TV station has tips for making sure you get proper Eclipse Glasses.
3 - After ringing up nine wins in a row to begin August, the River Bandits dropped three consecutive games against Cedar Rapids over the weekend. The Bandits open a four-game series at Modern Woodmen Park tonight. Catch the action on our sister station 1170 KBOB. First pitch is at 6:35pm. Scores and more on That Sports Thing at around 7:40am.
4 - Nally's Kitchen on Rockingham Road is being touted as THE place in the QUad Cities for authentic Mexican food. I've got $20 gift cards to Nally's Kitchen to giveaway Monday through Thursday morning this week so you can decide for yourself. Listen for your cue to call-in and win during the 8 o'clock hour. I've also got more Riverfront Pops tickets for you to win this week. Listen for the Beatles Breakfast Bite for your cue to call.
Have a great Monday.
