Quad City Deckmates Announce Pro Dance Prep Classes

Aspiring dancers will have a new way to prepare for Quad City Deckmate tryouts this fall.

The Quad City Deckmates are introducing their first-ever Deckmate Prep Classes, designed to give dancers ages 18 and older a better understanding of the tryout process while helping them build confidence and improve their skills.

When Are The Prep Classes?

Three classes are scheduled at Vibrant Arena in the Conference Room:

Sunday, September 20, 2026 — 1-3 p.m.
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 1-3 p.m.
Sunday, November 15, 2026 — 1-3 p.m.

Each class will feature new choreography and different dance styles. The routines will be similar to the types of choreography dancers could see when official Deckmate auditions take place.

The classes will also give dancers a chance to meet the Deckmate coaching staff, ask questions and learn more about what is expected from members of the team.

The goal is to make the tryout experience feel less unfamiliar while giving the coaching staff an opportunity to meet dancers before official auditions.

What Will Prep Class Consist Of?

Participants will get the chance to:

Learn multiple dance routines and styles
Practice choreography in a tryout-style setting
Meet the Deckmate coaches
Learn about the responsibilities of being a Deckmate
Get a better idea of what a season on the team is like
Build confidence before official tryouts
Become more comfortable with the coaching staff and team environment

Registration and Cost

Dancers can attend individual classes for $25 each. Those who want to attend all three can purchase a three-class package for $60, saving $15.

The prep classes are not official tryouts, but they are intended to give dancers a closer look at what they can expect when tryouts arrive.

Dancers of all experience levels are welcome, as long as they are 18 or older and interested in potentially becoming a Quad City Deckmate.
