UPDATE!  We have a winner.  Finally, after 23 days and many failures, Back Shop Pizza has announced somebody was able to take it down.  Think you got what it takes, scroll down and check out the details.

Time to bust out the stretchy pants and take a drive to Back Shop Pizza (2911 S 19th Street, Clinton) for the latest eating challenge in our area.  But unlike most eating challenges, this one you get to bring a friend to help you out.

Back Shop Pizza calls it the Dump Truck Challenge.  You can see more of this monster pizza below.  It's a 30-inch pizza that you and a friend have one hour to eat.  To put that in perspective, a frozen pizza is typically 12 inches.  While larges from the chain pizza places are typically around 10-12 inches.  So basically, 3x what is considered "large".

This 30-inch pizza is going to come with 1 topping for you and your friend.  You can either get one topping on the full thing or go half one topping, half another.  Now if you don't think you can eat a 1/2 of a 30-inch pizza in an hour, that's ok. Find a friend that can eat more.  The challenge is not each person eats half of the pizza.  It's both people combining to eat the full thing in one hour.

In that hour, you will not be able to use the restroom or go outside.  So take care of any business you have before you sit down to try and take on the Dump Truck.

If you and your friend are able to finish this monster 30-inch, 1 topping pizza in under an hour, you don't pay for the pizza and get $60 in gift cards for Back Shop Pizza.  $30 for their games and $30 towards food.  Which clearly you will use on your next visit cause you will be full after eating a 30-inch pizza.

If you fail at the challenge, you will pay the $59.95 cost of the pizza and tip.  Make sure you tip.  Plus of course, you will walk out of Back Shop Pizza in shame that you failed the Dump Truck Challenge.

Back Shop Pizza also has 20 beers on a self-serve tap.  That might be a challenge some of you would be better at, but no real challenge exists for these.  That's just something to enjoy.
