Farmer’s Almanac Prediction For Rest Of Wisconsin Winter 2025
Winter is just getting started. And Wisconsin knows winter. Now that it's 2025 what does the rest of winter look like for Wisconsin?
The Farmer's Almanac has been predicting weather for 233 years. Well before radars and satellites, it was letting folks know what to expect for their weather. Now, it has a new forecast for the rest of our winter in 2025.
Wisconsin Is Split In Three Weather Regions
There can be a big difference between Superior and Milwaukee. That is why the Farmer's Almanac breaks down the forecast into three different regions.
Wisconsin is split into the Lower Lakes, Upper Midwest, and Heartland. While all three will still have winter...it's not like this is all of a sudden Florida...the type of winter each will see is a bit different.
Upper Midwest Winter Forecast
This is where winter lives. From Green Bay to La Crosse and everything north. When people talk about the great white north, this is what they are talking about. But, it won't be as white this year. The Farmer's Almanac predicts snowfall will be below average with the snowiest times coming in late January, early February, and (of course right when you think you're done with winter) mid-March.
On the other bright side, winter will not be as cold as usual. Well, it will still be cold, just not as bad as normal for the far north of Wisconsin.
Winter Prediction For The Heartland Region
The Heartland region covers all of Iowa with just the southwest corner of Wisconsin. Figure Wisconsin Dells, south through Madison, and west to La Crosse.
This winter, won't be that wintery. While there could be some cold snaps in late January and late February it will be warmer than normal.
But does that mean a lot of snow? Nope...snowfall will be below normal as well. So it could be a pretty easy winter for this area of Wisconsin.
The Lower Lakes Region Winter Forecast
The region is really in the title. Everything around the lower Great Lakes. This covers Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, Chicago, and Milwaukee.
For Wisconsin, it's the southeast corner from Green Bay down to Milwaukee and then over to Madison.
While there can always be lake-effect snow and lake wind chills, the Farmer's Almanac says snow should be below normal. The temps, however, will be colder than normal.
That is always the worst combo. Cold and no snow to play in? I guess at least you shouldn't have to shovel.
If the forecast for your region sounds like something you like then you can thank the Farmer's Almanac. If it doesn't, well, just remember you live in Wisconsin and winter is always going to happen.
