If you or someone you know would like to get a COVID-19 test and you live in Illinois you can get one for free.
A drive-thru testing site is has been set up at the QCCA Expo Center in Rock Island.
According to WQAD, hundreds of people lined up in cars and waited for hours to get the free testing yesterday. You don't need a doctors order to get the free test. You don't even need to have any symptoms, just bring a valid ID.
As cases surge in our area more people are interested in being tested. You may need to wait a bit. WQAD reports there were only four health care professionals at the testing site.
You'll be able to receive free testing from now through July 10th. Testing is available from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily. The site is closed July 4. Test results usually come back between 1-2 days.
Be safe and be patient.
