Here’s How Much Money Nevada Would’ve Lost If Iowa Had To Cancel The Game Due To Weather
Watching the Iowa Hawkeyes take on the Nevada Wolf Pack left me with a lot of downtime - after three weather delays led to the game that started Saturday night to end in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Doing some research, I found a very interesting detail about University of Iowa: They pay out to non-conference teams that come to play at Kinnick Stadium, and it's way more than you'd ever guess.
For example, the 2022 season opener against South Dakota State ran the University $600,000, but that pales in comparison to what the school is paying out to Nevada now that their game is completed.
Being the University of Iowa is a government institution, all of their finances are public record, which means all of the Football Contracts between schools, like this one that we found.
