Here’s When to Expect I-80 Bridge Lane Closures in the Quad Cities
Even with the completion of the new I-74 Bridge in the Quad Cities it seems we'll always have stories to share about which bridges in our area are experiencing closures.
If you have an occasion to travel across the Fred Schwengel I-80 Bridge that connects LeClaire, Iowa to Hampton, Illinois you may want to choose a different route or at least muster up some patience.
The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced plans for repairs to Interstate 80 Mississippi River Bridge in Rock Island County. The repairs got underway yesterday and will last thru next week.
According to KWQC, the work, which will repair the bridge joints on the westbound lanes, will require lane closures. Closures will reduce westbound I-80 to one lane on the bridge until Oct. 1 weather permitting.
You know what to do. We've been through this before. Keep in mind this area is well travelled by trucks and semi's and there will be delays and back-up. You can find alternate routes by using the I-74 Bridge, or the US 30 Mississippi Bridge in Clinton. Happy travels and remember to breathe.
