The Kewanee, Illinois Police Department has released a press release on a weapons, drugs, and theft arrest that has gone viral, because of one of the mugshots.

The release says on March 19th, the Kewanee Police Department responded to a call of a burglary in progress that lead to two arrests and the seizure of multiple drugs, weapons, and stolen items.

Kewanee Police Department seized:

  • 2.5 pounds of cannabis
  • 2 ounces of cocaine
  • 1 ounce of hash butter
  • Hundreds of rounds of ammunition
  • 4 handguns
  • 1 shotgun
  • Polaris UTV
  • $8,800 in cash

Around 12:16pm, so the middle of the day, police were called to a residence where the caller was outside believing someone was inside of the home.

The caller said that 22-year-old Ian Bliss asked him to check on the home because Bliss saw on surveillance cameras that the suspect had kicked in the back door.

Officers responded to the scene and located the suspect's Polaris UTV parked outside the home with a loaded shotgun sitting on it.

The suspect, 27-year-old Dillon Schilling exited the residence, which was when officers placed him under arrest and located two handguns on his person.

A search of the Polaris UTV that he drove over to the scene to commit the burglary revealed a third handgun, $1,380 in cash, and 100 grams of cannabis packed for individual sale. Oh, and a ledger tracking his drug transactions.

Schilling was taken to the Henry County Jail where he was held on the preliminary charges of armed violence, residential burglary, possession with intent to deliver cannabis (30-500 grams), unlawful use of weapons, misdemeanor theft, and misdemeanor possession of cannabis.

Officers then found Schilling went to the residence to steal drugs and money from Bliss due to past drug transactions between the two individuals. Officers obtained a search warrant for the home of Ian Bliss.

There, officers located approximately 975 grams of cannabis, 50 grams of cocaine, 28 grams of hash butter, cannabis edibles, digital scales, drug packaging materials, $7,423 in cash, multiple handgun magazines, and ammunition. All items were seized and taken to the Kewanee Police Department.

Bliss wasn't at his residence, so an arrest warrant for $150,000 was obtained. Bliss turned himself into the authorities on March 30th, 2022.

The formal charges against Bliss, according to the report, include possession with intent to deliver 15-100 grams of cocaine (Class X Felony), possession of 15-100 grams of cocaine (Class 1 Felony), possession with intent to deliver 500-2000 grams of cannabis (Class 2 Felony), and possession of cannabis 500-2000 grams (Class 3 Felony).

Schiling's photo has reached minor virality after his mugshot shows he, rather than have a normal ear piercing, has a full size cattle tag attached through his ear.

Those don't come off. So, getting it off for prison should be fun.
