Iowa Comedian Helps Raise Money For Cancer Research With New Show
Over the last few years, comedy has been a huge part of many people's lives. We've all seen at least one comedy special on Netflix.
Both Iowa and Illinois are home to some amazing local comedic talent. What's even better to see is when that local talent comes together to raise awareness and funds for a good cause. We are seeing that good cause at The Lucky Cat Comedy & Events in Iowa.
Local Comedian, Oliver Schmitz will be joined by Travis Bails, and Matt Anderson with his show "not so tiny dancer" on June 11th. Schmitz had been working on this project for a while now, and really wanted to do a show like this while also helping a good cause.
When asked why he wanted to do this show Schmitz replied,
I wanted to help make a difference, because every little bit does count. Our performances bring all kinds of people together and I just saw the potential there to do some real good.
The Lucky Cat was formally known as "Thew Brewing" and has recently seen some great new changes that many fans of the venue can't wait to see.
This isn't the first time we've talked about the venue, another comedian made some fun noise on stage at Thew Brewing after putting on some boxing gloves and talking about the infamous Chris Rock slap. You can see that here.
Oliver Schmitz will be one of the first shows at this venue under its new name on June 11th. You can learn more about the event here. Have a great time at the show next month!
