Weekend Figge Admission To Help Apartment Collapse Victims

The Quad Cities has a unique way to help victims of the apartment building collapse this weekend.

On June 24th & 25th, the Figge Art Museum will donate all of their admission proceeds from the two days to the Community Foundation's Quad Cities Disaster Recovery Fund to help the victims of the collapsed apartment building at 324 Main.

The Facebook post from the Figge says that there will also be donation containers at the museum if any members would like to visit and make a donation to help too.

Currently, the Figge has multiple exhibitions you can enjoy, including 'The Life and Art of Charles M. Schulz' (the guy that animated Snoopy & Peanuts!).

General admission to the Figge is $10 for adults, $6 for seniors and students with their ID, and $4 for kids 4-12. And this weekend, it's all going to a good cause. The Figge is open 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

As for the aftermath of the collapsed building, lawsuits are in the works, neighboring businesses are moving back in, like Me & Billy, and the QCA community is pitching in to help victims, like local coffee shops banding together earlier this week to donate a portion of proceeds to help out.

The partially collapsed building is now torn down, but the streets around it remain closed. But if you want to go to the Figge this weekend, you do have places to park downtown. Their parking lot is open, plus there is space on 2nd Avenue and nearby parking garages.
