It's finally here! A long weekend with PLENTY to do around the Quad Cities area.  So what should be on your itinerary?

East Moline Labor Day Parade – Parade Sept. 7 at 11 a.m.  Parade travels west on 15th Ave. from 13th St. to 3rd Street.  Picnic at Illiniwek Park follows parade from 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Picnic tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for kids under 12.

Labor Day Weekend Pow Wow – Sept. 5 – 7 at Black Hawk State Historic Site in Rock Island.  Since 1940 this celebration honors the return of the Sauk people from Oklahoma and the Meswaki people from Iowa to their traditional lands. Traditional dances will be performed, bring lawn chairs and blankets.  Event is free, donations are accepted.

Milan Indian Summerfest – Sept. 4 – 6. The event includes carnival rides, music, food and more. A parade begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Admission is free.

Orion Fall Festival – Sept. 4 – 6 at Central Park in Orion. Festival includes a pie auction, carnival rides, games, and arts and crafts.  A 10 mile run and 5k are set for 7:30 a.m. Saturday and a one-mile fun run/walk at 9:15 a.m. Parade starts at 1 p.m.  Monday is a volunteer clean up day.

Pioneer Village Labor Day Celebration – Event goes from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sept. 6 and 7.  Activities include craft demonstrations by people dressed in old fashioned clothing, food, children’s games, make-and-take crafts and old-time music. Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for kids.

Rock Island Grand Prix – Sept. 5 and 6. Tens of thousands of spectators are expected throughout the weekend. Racing goes from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. both days. Event includes a car show, Family Fun Zone, and more.

Rock Island Labor Day Parade – Parade Sept. 7. at 9:30 a.m. Starts near Washington Junior High School at 33rd Street and 18th Avenue.  Parade travels west along 18th Ave., turns south at 24th St., west on 25th Ave. and ends at Rock Island High School
