You may recall at the beginning of 2020 (before things got really weird) minimum wage in Illinois went up from $8.25 to $9.25 an hour. Now it's climbing a bit more.
As of July 1, 2020 the minimum wage in Illinois is $10; a .75 cent per hour increase.
It's part of the SB1 Governor Pritzker sign on February, 19 2019. All part of a multi-year plan that will increase the minimum wage all the way up to $15 an hour.
If you work for tips, the Illinois Department of Labor says you may be paid 60% of the hourly minimum wage.
