Is it really just a coincidence that Moline's newest dog park is opening on the same day we introduce you to our next pet of the week in search of a home? Probably. But it's a very convenient coincidence!

Butterworth Dog Park will officially be opened tonight, July 9th, at 5:30 p.m. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, and anyone and everyone (plus their fur babies) are invited. According to the event's Facebook page, there will also be photo ops, giveaways, and commemorative brick available to attendees.

The new dog park is located at 15th Street and 8th Avenue in Moline. The city's Parks and Recreation department also posted a photo revealing that they've created special, reversible bandanas for just the occasion. Check them out:

As far as restrictions go, there aren't too many! According to Butterworth Park officials, it is open to all sizes of pups, but it will feature separate areas for large and small dogs, just in case your dog prefers to play with pups its own size.
