New Policy No Longer Allows People To Hang Out At Wisconsin Starbucks
People really love their coffee. The magic little bean mixed with water is a way many in Wisconsin wake up and warm up every morning. While there are many choices for coffee, including your kitchen, a lot of people use Starbucks for their coffee perk. But some use it without getting the perk.
There are 40,199 Starbucks in the world. 15,988 in America. And 145 Starbucks in Wisconsin. And all 145 of them are changing their open-door policy.
Starbucks New Open Door Policy In Wisconsin
Starbucks had an "open door" policy which meant you could go into any Starbucks to use the WiFi, the bathroom, or have a 4-hour in-person meeting and never purchase a drop of coffee.
The new policy will force folks to purchase something to use the facility in any capacity.
In a statement from the company, “There is a need to reset expectations for how our spaces should be used, and who uses them,” Starbucks North America President Sara Trilling said.

“We want to ensure our spaces are prioritized for use by our customers. Our Coffeehouse Code of Conduct is something most retailers have and is designed to provide clarity that our spaces – including our cafes, patios, and restrooms – are for use by customers and partners,” the company shared in the statement.
The "open door" policy has been in effect since 2018.
Some Starbucks customers (or in this case non customers) don't think the employees are going to stop people from using the bathroom.
Even former employees think this won't change things for most people.
Maybe depending on the persons "business" in the bathroom Starbucks should charge?
Opinions, as they always do, differed drastically.
A lot of customers seem to be in favor of changing the policy.
And with that, just a reminder there are plenty of local coffee shops ready to serve you as well.
