New Pandemic Restrictions Coming This Weekend for IL QCA
It's getting hard to keep track of which counties in Iowa and Illinois are open or closed to inside dining and drinking anymore.
This weekend parts of the Illinois Quad City area are closing to indoor dining. The changes are happening in region one and they've been put in place to help mitigate the spread of the virus. It affects Whiteside county.
Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker announced restaurants will no longer be offering dine-in services starting Saturday. Restaurants in Whiteside County can offer outdoor seating for customers who make reservations, but they have to close by 11 p.m.
According to an OurQuadCites article, business owners in that area are frustrated. Michelle Burns is the co-owner of Smoked on Third BBQ Bistro and Catering in Sterling.
I think frustration is the first thing that came to mind but one of the things about living here in the Sterling Rock Falls area is that we have a very strong community and our community supports us,” said Burns.
Plan on getting meals outside or curbside to-go if you had dining plans in Albany, Fulton, Erie, Morrison, Sterling, Rock Falls, Prophetstown, Tampico, Lydon, Deer Grove, Coleto and Como, Illinois.
The Illinios Department of Public Health says they're monitoring positivity rates to determine if restrictions can be relaxed.
