Quad City Storm Invites Fans to Paint the Ice for Charity
The Quad City Storm is bringing back a powerful tradition to honor those touched by cancer. On Monday, February 9, 2026, the community is invited to the Vibrant Arena at the Mark in Moline to participate in the "Paint the Ice" event.
A Personal Way to Honor Loved Ones
Between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., fans can head down to the rink to paint the names of friends and family members who have battled cancer directly onto the ice. The Storm will provide all necessary supplies, including paint and brushes, making it easy for everyone to leave a meaningful tribute.
Game Night and Specialty Jerseys
The hand-painted names will remain on the rink for the "Hockey Fights Cancer" game on Friday, February 13, 2026, when the Storm faces off against the Peoria Rivermen at 7:10 p.m.
Specialty jerseys will be worn by the players and auctioned post-game to raise money for the Trinity Cancer Center.
Supporting a Local Cause
The event is a partnership with UnityPoint Health Trinity. All proceeds from the jersey auction and related activities will stay local. As the team stated, "Hockey fights cancer night returns as we team up with our partners at UnityPoint Health Trinity to raise money for the Trinity Cancer Center."
