No More Atomic Drinks? PV High School Rolls Out New Drink Rule
Students at Pleasant Valley High School may want to rethink their morning drink run. The school is introducing a new rule requiring students to keep their beverages sealed in a closed, non-spillable container.
That means popular drinks from Atomic, Starbucks, 7 Brew, and other places can still make their way TO school, but students won't be able to carry them around in open containers INSIDE the school.

Goodbye, Open Cups in the Hallways
The new rule comes after an increase in drink spills throughout the school. (A spill every day keeps the open containers away) School officials say many of the popular drinks contain syrups, concentrates, and colorful ingredients that can be especially difficult to remove from carpets.
The goal isn't to completely ban students from enjoying their favorite drinks. Instead, PV wants students to make sure those drinks stay contained.
Your Atomic Can Still Come to School
Students are still allowed to bring drinks purchased outside of school onto campus. The catch? They will need to transfer those drinks into an approved container.
Clear plastic cups and soda cans, even if they have lids, will no longer meet the requirements once the new rule is in effect.
What Can PV Students Use?
Students can use sturdy containers made from materials such as heavy-duty plastic, stainless steel, or glass with a silicone sleeve.
Cafeteria drinks will also need to be placed in a non-spillable container if students take them outside the cafeteria.
So, PV students don't necessarily have to give up their favorite Atomic or Starbucks run. They just need to bring a cup that won't leave the school cleaning crew dealing with another sticky surprise.
