Three Great 4th of July Parades Happening Near the Quad Cities
Communities around the Quad Cities are gearing up for their annual 4th of July parades. Here are three parades worth checking out this July 4th.
Bettendorf's Old-Fashioned 4th of July Parade
One of the biggest and most popular Independence Day events in the Quad Cities takes place in Bettendorf.
The Bettendorf Old-Fashioned 4th of July Parade starts at 10 a.m. and attracts thousands of spectators each year. The parade begins at 23rd Street and State Street before winding through several neighborhood streets and ending near 21st Street.
Following the parade, visitors can head to Spruce Hills Drive for a street festival featuring live music, food vendors, and family activities from noon until 10 p.m. The day concludes with a fireworks show at Middle Park after sunset.
DeWitt's Hometown 4th of July Parade
If you're looking for a classic small-town Independence Day experience, DeWitt delivers.
The city's annual parade also begins at 10 a.m. and travels from the Clinton County Fairgrounds through downtown DeWitt before returning to the fairgrounds. It's a community favorite that showcases local organizations, businesses, emergency vehicles, and plenty of patriotic spirit.
For many families, the DeWitt parade has become a yearly tradition and a great way to kick off a full day of holiday celebrations.
East Moline 4th of July Parade
East Moline keeps the festivities rolling into the afternoon with its annual 4th of July Parade beginning at 1 p.m.
The celebration starts early with the popular Firecracker Run at 7:30 a.m., giving runners and walkers a chance to start their holiday with some exercise before the parade begins.
By the afternoon, the streets fill with parade entries, local groups, decorated vehicles, and community pride. It's a great option for anyone who wants to enjoy a morning event elsewhere and still catch another parade later in the day.
