QC Fests Set to Benefit Flood Relief Efforts
Now that the waters are receding it's time clean up and get some relief. Two flood relief benefit festivals have been planned for our area- Flood Fest, will be held on June 7th at the River Center and Floodapalooza is set for May 11th at Family Care Solutions Home Health & Supports.
Flood Fest is a collaboration with the Downtown Davenport Partnership, Moeller Nights, the River Music Experience and Rexroat Sound RS.
The proceeds from this event will go directly towards downtown recovery efforts.
The fund is set up through Grow Quad Cities – Iowa, a 501(c)3 whose mission is to improve the general economic well-being of the Scott County area and the greater Iowa Quad Cities area.
Grow Quad Cities will gift the money raised to Downtown Davenport Partnership, who already has the entire infrastructure to implement assistance and has been helping build downtown since the 1970's with a tested track-record.
Ticket sales and musical lineup will be announced soon for the Flood Fest. You can keep track by clicking here.
Floodapalooza is hosted by the businesses at London Place in Davenport – Bella Salon, Catherine's + Paul's for Men, Bettendorf Chiropractic Wellness Center, The Bag Broker, Bello Barber, & Family Care Solutions Home Health & Supports who have joined together to sponsor this event for ROAM Staff who have been displaced. They are out of work until ROAM is up and running again.
ROAM, a new restaurant on E. River Drive, had opened only 4 months ago when the floodwaters breached and inundated the establishment.
Floodapalooza will feature live music, silent auctions, raffle, food trucks, face painting, and a bounce house. Proceeds will help displaced employees of ROAM. The event will take place at London Place,4893 Utica Ridge Road, Davenport, behind the Utica Ridge YMCA.
