June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month and there are a lot of rainbow celebrations planned around the QC.

Here's a nugget of knowledge: Pride Month is celebrated in June because of the Stonewall Riots in 1969, which were a series of gay rights protests that started in late June.

Fast forward to now in the QC, there's a whole month of events to celebrate Pride. Here's the list (in chronological order, you're welcome):

Quad Cities Pridefest (June 3 & 4)

Friday: 4:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m., Saturday: 2:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. Pridefest will be at Schweibert Park in Rock Island. It will feature drag shows, live music, burlesque, and art. One day admission is $7, admission for the weekend is $12.

Pride 5K: Walk, Run & Roll (June 12)

8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. on Sunday, beginning at Bass Street Landing in Moline. Packet pickup will be from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10 at The Project (which is at 1701 River Drive, Unit 110 in Moline). The event is put on by The Project Of The Quad Cities, which helps those who are living with HIV and AIDS.

Pride Night with the River Bandits (June 16)

6:30 p.m. at Modern Woodmen Park. The River Bandits will take on the South Bend Cubs in a game that is in partnership with The Project Of The Quad Cities. You can use the word PRIDE to get a discount on bleacher seats for the game on the River Bandits' website.

Love Is Love Dinner Drag Show (June 17)

At The Diner in Davenport. Cocktails will be served at 6:00 p.m., the drag show begins at 7:00 p.m. For dinner and the show, a ticket is $30. General admission is $15. To make your reservation, reach out to caterwiththediner@gmail.com.

Unity Pride Parade (June 18)

Begins at 4:00 p.m. at the TaxSlayer Center. It will go east on River Drive, turn onto 17th Street, then on 5th Avenue, and ultimately 12th Street in Moline. It's part of QC Pride's Unity Pride Week, so there are several events going on that week.

Pride Party at Bass Street Landing (June 18)

Also in Moline on June 18th, the Pride Party at Bass Street Landing will be from 5:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m. It features a youth drag show, live music, and more and is hosted by The Project Of The Quad Cities. Admission to the party is free.

Pride Bingo (June 20)

At the Raccoon Motel (downtown Davenport) from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Each bingo card is $5. The event will benefit Clock, Inc. There will be prizes, special guests, drinks, and more.
