Rock Island Is Waiving Fees That Have Gone To Collections

Rock Island County is offering amnesty from collection fees for a short time.

In other words accounts previously referred to collections will have the 30% statutory collection fees removed starting now and continuing through July 27, 2018.

According to the city, after August 6, 2018, any debt still delinquent will be placed with the county's new vendor for collecting and the fee will be reassessed with the balance on their account at the time of the new referral.

Any amount paid by the debtor before the account is referred will reduce the amount they owe.
