Social Media Plans Date To Storm Area 51

"Storm Area 51.  They Can't Stop All Of Us".  That is how the post starts.  And right there I got sucked into it.

Area 51.  The famed military base in the middle of the desert that has every conspiracy theory possible wrapped around it.  The biggest is of course the Aliens.  Now people want to raid the base to set the Aliens free.

A Facebook event is inviting people to raid the base on September 20.  The event post simply says "We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Lets see them aliens."

The post has of course gone viral.  As of July 12th at 9am, 419K people are going and another 431k are interested.  If you are ready to sign up as well, here you go!

Stories like this is what social media was made for.  The absurd.  Which then comes the absurd posts on Twitter.  Here are some of my favorite.  If you need a break from the work day.  Just go laugh.  Be careful though.  Area 51 may be listening and watching.
