A temporary and free COVID-19 testing site is returning to Rock Island County for 2 weeks for residents to use.

According to our news partner, Local 4 News, a temporary community-based COVID-19 testing site is returning to Rock Island County. This site is drive-through and will be there for two weekends. Those weekends including this coming up weekend, October 17 and October 18, and at the end of the month during the weekend of October 31 and November 1.

The four days that the site is open, their hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 pm. each. The testing site will be in the parking lot of the Camden Centre, 2701 1st Street in Milan.

Like previous testing sites in Rock Island County, anyone who is an Illinois resident may get a test, even if they do not have any symptoms. Those wishing to get a test do not need an appointment or a doctor’s referral. The test is free.

For residents wanting to get tested will need to bring photo identification and must have a functioning window in a vehicle. Walk-up testing is available but directions for walk-up testing will be posted at the test site.

Officials say there could be long wait times depending on demand for testing.

The testing site is mainly for those showing or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. If you or someone you know thinks they have COVId-19 symptoms, you or them can check using the CDC Symptom Self-Checker Tool.
