Many of us have enjoyed incredible barbecue, but sadly, we've also had our share of awful BBQ. Personally, I'm always on the hunt for the best BBQ in my home state of Iowa. While browsing 'OIYS,' I came across a place that was being highlighted as the top BBQ spot in Iowa.

This spot is loved by many, and reports say it's the best not only in Waterloo, but the whole state.

It's easy to walk right by Rodney's Kitchen as you go about your business in Waterloo. But one of Iowa's hidden gems is awaiting anyone who opens that door. The casual restaurant is counter-service and offers huge portions at a reasonable price. Just make your order, sit down, and enjoy.

About Rodney's Kitchen

This spot is open from Tuesdays to Sundays. It's description is as follows:

Casual restaurant turning out soul food favorites, from brisket burgers to chicken sandwiches.

Rodney's ribs are expertly slow-smoked to perfection, coated in a deliciously sweet and spicy sauce that enhances their rich flavor. Each bite offers tender, fall-off-the-bone meat that practically melts in your mouth, making for an unforgettable BBQ experience.

YUM! This is a spot that I now plan on trying next time I'm in Waterloo. 'Only In Your State' went on to say,

If Rodney's has a signature sandwich, it has to be their massive cheesesteaks. This one isn't for the faint of heart and will make any Philly ex-pat feel right at home. But the specialties don't end with the meats. Rodney's Kitchen has an extensive selection of Southern sides, so feel free to sample and find the perfect combo for your meal.
