United Way Needs 1500 Volunteers for Day of Caring
Be a reading buddy at Wells Elementary. Repair a handicap ramp for Project NOW. Help the Arc of the Quad Cities by painting. These are just a few of jobs the United Way wants volunteers for on Thursday September 20. That is United Way of the Quad Cities Day of Caring.
The United Way is looking for 1,500 area volunteers "to join the fight for health, education and financial stability" by volunteering that day. There are 72 projects which volunteers can pick from. Morning, afternoon and all day projects are available. For more information on the day of caring you can call Amy at 563-344-0344.
The United Way of the Quad Cities tackles issues facing the Quad Cities as a whole. They bring together people and resources to tackle the communities biggest problems to achieve long term lasting change. In the Quad Cities the United Way helps children overcome educational barriers; helps people break the poverty cycle; and keeps families healthy and safe.
