Enjoy the mild temps and partly sunny skies today, because it looks like a wet weekend is in store for us in the Quad Cities.

It's perfect if you plan to get your flowers planted this weekend. The rain will give new plants a nice drink. It's not so ideal if you plan to be outside enjoying your kids' sporting events.

According to the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities there's a threat for scattered showers and some thunderstorms that will begin late tonight, and continue through Sunday. We'll have some dry hours throughout the weekend, but some locations in our area may get up to a 1/2 inch of welcome rain.

According to OurQuadCities.com isolated evening showers are possible in eastern Iowa and widespread showers are expected after midnight.

The good news is next week is looking a lot warmer and rain chances are likely  Wednesday or Thursday.
