I'd never heard of the sandwich shop chain, Which Wich, until I learned the company wants to open multiple locations in the Quad Cities, so I did some homework.

Which Wich? Superior Sandwiches operates 450 restaurants in 40 states and 11 countries. According to a QCTimes.com article, 60 new locations are under development, including one in Cedar Rapids. The company has three restaurants in the Des Moines area and two in Iowa City.

Which Wich is reportedly known for its ordering system; customers use red Sharpie markers to mark up pre-printed menus on sandwich bags.

You can select a sandwich from 10 catergories and then choose the bread, cheese spread and toppings. The sandwiches are then prepared and delivered in the personalized sandwich bags. Guests are encouraged to draw on their bags and hang their “artwork” on the community wall.

Which Wich customized submarine sandwiches come in regular (7-inch), large (10.5-inch) and super (14-inch) sizes. The Which Wich menu consists of its signature fan faves, “build your own sandwich,” kids’ menu, shakes and sweets, vegan and vegetarian options, gluten-free options and catering menu.
