You Can Stay In The Groundhog Day B+B For $200 A Night

The Airbnb listing didn't say if you'd be woken up every morning with I Got You Babe but you can probably request it.

How good of a movie was Groundhog Day? That's an honest question because I'm not really sure. I love it. I've seen it probably at least 7 or 8 times, but I feel like my opinion of it has been tainted because it was such a local story when it was filmed in the area. I'm pretty sure it was basically a local holiday when Bill Murray came to town to film the scene at the gravel pit.

I asked some people who didn't grow up here or in the far NW suburbs close to Woodstock how much they enjoyed it and the general concensus was that it's a borderline top 5 movie for Bill Murray. Not quite at the Caddyshack or Stripes level, but better than What About Bob?

Either way, if you want to have a real Groundhog Day experience, you can stay at the B+B that's featured in the movie. All you have to do is book it through the website.

The bedroom featured on the site doesn't look too much like the one in the movie but that could have very well been a Hollywood set, I'm not sure.

The exterior of the house is definitely what they used and will be instantly recognizable to any fan of the movie.

There's also a pretty nice gazebo(?) in the back with a stone altar. Maybe the perfect site for a Groundhog Day-themed wedding. That's up to you.

This could be a fun trip. I lived in Woodstock and it's a pretty good time on the square, especially at night. You can also take a self-guided walking tour of downtown Woodstock with all the movie locations pointed out. The B+B has the maps.
