Roseland is making its move, and if you’re from the Quad Cities, you may recognize a couple of familiar faces while watching the new music video.

The Iowa/Illinois country duo, made up of Gavin Arnold and Cameron Smith, just released the music video for their song “My Move,” giving fans a new visual to go along with their latest music. Roseland has been building a following across the Midwest with a sound rooted in country, small-town life, and their Midwestern upbringing.

The Storyline

The "My Move" music video is a fun, lighthearted take on the song’s message about making your move when you have your eye on someone.

The storyline follows a classic cowboy showdown of sorts. There’s the mean, confident cowboy, who isn’t exactly making life easy for the dorkier cowboy. The two have very different personalities, especially when it comes to trying to impress the pretty girl.

But, as the video proves, you don’t always have to be the biggest, toughest or coolest guy in the room to get the girl.

By the end, it’s the dorky cowboy who gets the pretty girl, giving the whole video a sweet underdog ending. It’s cute, funny, and definitely worth watching if you’re looking for something a little more lighthearted from a country music video.

Familiar Quad City Faces Featured In The Video

Quad Cities viewers may also spot some familiar faces throughout the video.

Wyatt Heyvaert, lead singer of local band Dirt Road Rockers, takes on the role of the mean and tough cowboy.

You’ll also see Megan-A-Mess, a familiar face from the Quad Cities sports and radio scene, who appears as a backup dancer and the choreographer for the “My Move” dance featured in the video.

More Songs Have Been Released

The new video comes as Roseland rolls out a whole collection of new music. Their latest EP, Show You Around, was released July 31 and features six songs: “Show You Around,” “Come From It,” “My Move,” “I’m Down With That,” “Rewind” and “Small Town Don’t.”

The duo had already been keeping busy with new releases, including “I’m Down With That,” which dropped July 10, and “Show You Around,” released earlier this year. Their catalog also includes fan favorites like “Backroad Sippin’,” “She Just Is,” “Bartender Therapy” and “Wasted” featuring Olivia Kelley.

Roseland’s Midwest roots have helped them stand out, but they’re no strangers to bigger recognition. The duo was nominated for four Josie Music Awards at the Grand Ole Opry in 2024 and has continued building its name throughout the country music scene.
