Add This New Event To Your List Of Summer Festivals

Newbo evolve celebrates the creative Bohemian spirit through music, fashion, dance, food, and technology is a multi-faceted festival coming to Cedar Rapids, Aug. 3-5.

National headlining concerts from Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson are featured in addition to keynote speaker Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit.

Events during newbo evolve will take place in a variety of indoor and outdoor venues and businesses in downtown Cedar Rapids.

The lineup includes sessions featuring:

•  John Waters, who is known for writing/directing movies such as "Hairspray" will perform a spoken-word lecture called "This Filthy World”
• Christian Siriano, a fashion designer who won the fourth season of "Project Runway"
• Clint Harp, a carpenter who regularly appears on HGTV’s "Fixer Upper."
• Carson Kressley, a style expert, fashion designer known for starring in Bravo’s "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" among others

For the adventurous, the event also will feature a 10-story high zip line that will travel more than 1,000 feet across the Cedar River.

Three-day festival passes cost $375 and will go on sale 10 a.m. Friday on newboevolve.com and Ticketmaster.com.
