Sixth Grade Bettendorf Girl Earns Chance To Compete At Augusta National
A tradition unlike any other. The Masters. The most prestigious golf tournament of the year will, like it has been for 86 years, will be played at the famed Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia April 7-10. Liliana Graham of Bettendorf will be watching closely as she will have the opportunity to compete there.
Drive, Chip, and Putt Youth Golf Program
The Drive, Chip and Putt program is a nationwide youth golf development initiative for boys and girls ages 7-15. It is designed to inspire a new generation to choose golf as a lifetime pursuit.
The top 80 performers each year earn the opportunity to compete in the National Finals at one of the most prestigious golf clubs in the world – Augusta National, home of the Masters Tournament.
One of the finalists is from Bettendorf:
Sixth-grader Liliana Graham will be in the girl's 10-11 competition and is pursuing her biggest achievement in golf thus far: making it to the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals. Liliana got her start playing golf with her older brother, who she says is the coolest golfer in the world. When she isn’t working on her golf game, Liliana can be found doing crafts, listening to music, or playing with her little sister.
The 2022 Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel on Sunday, April 3, the eve of the Masters Tournament. You can check out the future of golf and cheer on one of Quad Cities own!
