Can you draw? You could win up to $500 by entering Quad City Arts Chalk Art Fest 2018 during Davenport's Alternating Currents Festival. This is a great way to show off your skills to family, friends and neighbors and get an opportunity to create art on a city street.

Artists will be given 8' X 10' area to create their drawing and are asked to create something in chalk appropriate for a family friendly event. It can either be an original work, or reproductions with credit given to the original artist off to the side. Registration for the event and complete details can be found here. Registration closes August 23.

There's also a large community art piece. For a $5 donation to Quad City Arts you'll get a set of chalk to create a portion of a larger art piece. When complete this piece will come together as a complete work of art.

It's free to come to Chalk Art Fest and look at the street art. It's happening on 2nd Street between Perry Street and Pershing Avenue. Hours are Noon to 7PM CT Saturday August 25. And 10AM - 4PM CT on Sunday August 26. Artist's works must be complete by 2PM CT on Sunday the 26 for judging. Chalk Art Fest is hosted by Quad City Arts.
