You've heard of the painting parties paired with a glass of wine. Here's a local twist on the painting party theme.

Bettendorf Public Library is  hosting a "Painting and Pints" class led by Glenn Boyles from the Family Museum at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Palmer Grill, at 2999 Middle Road, Bettendorf.

You can create art while enjoying a 'pint' or really any kind of beverage along with snacks, salads or sandwiches, which will be available for an additional purchase. The event is free and is designed for anyone 21 or older.

You'll need to register by calling 563-344-4179 or visiting the calendar of events at bettendorflibrary.com. I've always wondered if my 'art' would look better or worse after have a few tips of a pint.
