Galesburg Teen Wins National Award for Anti-Bullying Campaign
A student at Lombard Middle School got the surprise of a lifetime Thursday morning.
Actor Misha Collins sent in a video, congratulating eighth-grader Katie Dunbar on earning the 2016 "Caught in the Act" award, which goes to a teen who creates an impactful campaign against bullying.
Katie earned the award due to her "Take a Stand" club, which uses open conversation and random acts of kindness to help spread the anti-bullying message.
Dunbar also received a $2,000 prize for winning the award, which she plans to donate to Cystic Fibrosis research.
