Home Depot Issues New Shopping Guidelines
On most days lately if you drive by the Bettendorf Home Depot, the parking lot looks everyone in town is remodeling the bathroom. It's busy there.
The company's website says, "as the COVID-19 situation in the U.S. continues to change, Home Depot's focus has been for the health and safety of their customers and associates."
It has to be difficult for essential businesses to continue to operate but also provide a safe shopping environment for us. A company is only as strong as its workforce and keeping employees safe is a big concern.
Here are some of the temporary changes Home Depot stores are implementing:
- Store hours have been adjusted to close daily at 6 p.m. to give staff more time to perform cleaning and restock shelves. Opening hours will not change.
- Limits to the number of customers inside at any given time.
- Thermometers will be distributed to associates in stores and distribution centers, and employees will be asked to perform health checks before reporting to work.
