For those traveling across the I-74 and Centennial bridges, expect new lane closures on or near both bridges. Fortunately, the Centennial bridge lane closures will not last too long.

said on Twitter that 6th Ave in Moline will be closed beginning today, Thursday, August 6. Officials say that 6th Ave will be closed between 19th and 23rd Streets in Moline. This closure will last for about two weeks. This closure is happening to facilitate work on overhead I-74 structures. While this work is happening, 12th Avenue will be open to traffic.


If you're heading to Rock Island via the Centennial Bridge today and/or tomorrow, there will be lane closures also. According to KWQC, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced that there will be lane closures on the Centennial Bridge that begin today, Thursday, August 6, and Friday, August 7.

These lane closures are for workers to perform a bridge inspection. The Illinois-bound outside drive lane will be closed from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. On Friday, the Iowa-bound outside drive lane will be closed from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
