Have you ever looked at road construction and thought or said out loud, "There's nobody working here? What the heck?" I'm guilty of this, I'll admit. Of course, there is probably a reason for not seeing anyone doing the work at that exact moment. If you're still on the "those crews never work" bandwagon this might change your mindset.

Road construction can really put a damper on your day. It can be especially frustrating if its happening on your regular route. Even more, you might lose your mind if you look around and everything appears to be fine.

Illinois is one of the states that is always under construction, it doesn't matter the season either. The harsh winter weather is likely a factor in the necessary repairs but how hasn't someone come up with a way for the pavement to last a little longer? By no means am I a roadway construction expert but there has to be a way to eliminate so much construction.

Just the other day I passed a truck applying fresh yellow lines along Route 2, with a dozen plus vehicles close behind. I was thinking to myself "just pass them" but then it dawned on me, that fresh paint would probably splatter onto the cars. It takes about two hours for that fresh paint to dry on an average day, in case you wondered.
