Baseball season returns Thursday in the majors. Every year on Opening Day, I breath a sigh of relief. It means winter is pretty much over and I can breath a sigh of relief. I'm a huge baseball fan, and as lot of our listeners know, a even bigger Chicago Cubs fan.

According to OurQuadCities.com, Cubs skipper Joe Maddon remembers his time fondly in the Quad Cities. Joe got his managerial start here as a manager for the Quad Cities Angels in 1976.

Joe says Davenport and Rock Island get all the love with Moline coming in third, and Bettendorf is the unsung hero of the Quad Cities. He also goes on to talk about Augustana Collage, but he says its in Moline, but its actually in Rock Island. See Maddons comments here.

You cant blame him. He's been super busy winning World Championships for both the Angels and the Cubs. Both are pretty big orders in which he delivered on. Lets hope 2018 is another good year for Maddon. Catch Opening Day on our sister station ESPN 93.5 as the Cubs take on Miami. John Lester will be the Opening Day pitcher for the Cubs. First pitch is at 11:40 a.m. #FLYTHEW.
