Finally a new security update that might be easier for Iowans. This updates comes after multiple attempts to change things around in the Midwest. In short, Walmart has been trying to find new ways to do two things at once: increase security while keeping shopping easy. That's hard to do when stolen items are the main thing they are trying to prevent. One method that was recently reported is body cams.
A shopper in Denton also shared a photo with CNBC that showed an associate checking receipts while wearing a yellow and black body camera earlier this month.
We have all seen items locked away. It has been well documented that many Walmart's have even started locking small things with frequent theft targets such as razors. laundry, detergent and even toothpaste.

This could involve implementing changes that reduce the need for frequent interactions with store employees, streamlining the process to allow customers to shop more independently. The American retail giant is reportedly testing a new technology that allows employees to unlock cases without manually using keys. The tech is already live in a few hundred Walmart stores.
I personally haven't seen these, but this could be a massive change in shopping and security.

New sources have disused a way to use your smart phone to unlock the vaults.
"Another company called Indyme has developed a “Freedom Case” that lets customers unlock merchandise using their cell phone number, an app, a store loyalty card, or even their face"
Using your phone to buy things has already be a long established thing. Using it to unlock things with apps has also been a thing. So it is possible.
