Moline’s Nashville-Inspired Bar ‘Late Rider’ Closes After 5 Months
The downtown Moline country and western bar, Late Rider, has officially closed its doors just five months after opening.
Idea “Didn’t Stick,” Says Owner
The group behind several popular local bars and restaurants announced the closure in a recent social media post.
“Sometimes you have an idea that just doesn’t stick,” the post said. “We launched Late Rider in May of this year to bring a bit of Nashville to the Quad Cities. The idea did not gain enough traction with the community to continue. A big thank you to all of you who supported us.”
Opened With a Nashville Twist
Late Rider first welcomed guests on May 9, 2025, taking over the former Analog Arcade Bar location on 5th Avenue. The venue aimed to recreate the feel of Nashville’s lively honky-tonk bar scene, complete with country music, themed décor, and a southern-inspired atmosphere.
Part of the Bummer City Expansion
The bar was developed by Bummer City, Inc., the same team led by owner Dan Bush, who also opened Take Cover Tiki Bar next door in October 2024.
Closure Marked Online
According to Google, Late Rider is now listed as permanently closed. The company hasn’t announced any future plans for the space but thanked patrons who supported the short-lived Nashville-style venture in downtown Moline.
