Get ready for more snow and cold temperatures in the Quad Cities starting on Wednesday afternoon and lasting through Thursday.

According to our weather partner Local 4 News, snowy, breezy, and chilly weather moving in to the Quad Cities starting this afternoon.

The National Weather Service of the Quad Cities predicts the QC will see around 2 inches of snow through Thursday morning. More snow will fall south of the QC and we'll see less snow in the northern part of the listening area.

After the snow fall tonight in the overnight, very cold air will follow for Thursday into Friday morning. According to our weather partner Local 4 News, temperatures will dip into the 10's by early Thursday morning. Winds could get up to around 15-20 mph will which will push the wind chill temps into the single digits and even below zero. Friday morning is when we will see the coldest temperatures, with temperatures below zero, and wind chills across the QCA will range from -10° to -20°. The Quad Cities coldest reading so far this season is -1°.

    • A chance of rain and snow between 2pm and 3pm, then snow. High near 37. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
  • Wednesday Night
    • Snow, mainly before 5am. Patchy blowing snow after midnight. Low around 14. Blustery, with a southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest 15 to 20 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
  • Thursday
    • A chance of snow before 11am, then scattered flurries between 11am and noon. Patchy blowing snow before 7am. Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 9 by 5pm. Wind chill values as low as -5. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
  • Thursday Night
    • Mostly clear, with a low around -3. Wind chill values as low as -10. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight.
